Another Saint in her first season of the AFLW, Greiser impressed and quickly became a fan-favourite, nicknamed the ‘G-Train’. Known for her powerful marking ability and long-range kicking, ‘G-Train’ became St Kilda’s greatest presence in the forward 50 and the biggest danger for opposition defenders.
She earned herself the leading goalkicker award, putting away 10 goals in the short home-and-away season. Her ability to bring the ball to ground in marking contests also proved to be a threat for the opposition as it allowed the Saints’ small forwards to find the footy around goal.
Greiser earned both a NAB AFLW Rising Star nomination and cult-hero status in Round 3 against Melbourne, with 10 kicks, four marks and two goals, the last goal of which won the Saints the game.
Down by a point with five minutes left on the clock, Greiser marked the ball one-handedly 55m out and calmly walked back to take the shot, backing herself to make the 60m kick.
Incredibly, that’s exactly what she did, earning the long-bomb a NAB Goal of the Year Nomination to go along with the win against the Dees.
Greiser was also selected in the AFLW team of the year and is another favourite alongside teammate, Patrikios, for the Rising Star and St Kilda Best and Fairest awards.
