It’s been a busy year for Adelaide defender Alex Keath.

Between university, home life and cementing a place in the Crows’ best 22, the former cricketer has barely had a chance to indulge.

“I’ve really enjoyed being part of the team and trying to lock down a spot in the back six,” Keath told The Crows Show, brought to you by Optus.

“It’s such a strong group with great players.”

After a breakout start to 2019, Keath’s name is being thrown into discussions for All Australian selection

But the 27-year-old entered the year with a far more simple focus: continuity.

“I didn’t put any real expectations on myself,” he said.

“I wanted to get continuity with my training… I think through that I’ve been able to improve and build resilience in my body.”

Adelaide’s Tom Doedee was ruled out for the season following an ACL tear in the opening round against Hawthorn and Keath, although disappointed was full of praise for the young defender.

“Tom’s a great player who we can’t wait to have back,” Keath said.

“He’s such a strong player for his age and came in last year to be one of the best in the team.
